Shinola Flyer Gallery

Shinola-first flyerIf we start before the beginning, we start with Ophelia's Backporch Revolution. In fact, not only were Alec and Anthony founding members of both bands, but the two bands shared three songs in common: "Bootlicker," "Washin'," and "(You Loved Me For) My Cigarettes."

The image is from a Aubrey Beardsley lithograph from Mort d'Arthur. The stencil lettering confused many who tried to read the letters across instead of down.

This Columbia Street Bakery & Coffeehouse show was our first, and Alec remembers having the jitters real bad... especially since Jim Wilbur of Superchunk was there.
