Polymos BPR-043
Bright Birds Feed Right
Imagine if someone took a lake—an entire effin' lake—and moved it, I dunno, five feet to the left. After a few initial glances you'd notice that something ain't quite right, but soon enough it'd all become familiar again, like nothing ever happened. That's exactly what Polymos wants you to believe. The lake never moved, and you're imagining things, weirdo. They might not have the muscle to convince you that nothing ever occurred, but the blistering guitar solos and the ball-belting vocals might persuade you. Oh wait, they don't have that either. No muscle. No guitars. No vocals.

Bright Birds Feed Right is the debut release of Dan Haugh (godheadSilo, Smoke and Smoke, Chef Menteur) and Andrew Dalio (Archipelago). Dan plays banjo, and Andrew plays bass. The two-piece almost always practices and performs acoustically, about as stripped down as it gets (instrument-wise, silly), but decided, mostly for fun, to record full-on electric, including synthesizers, drums, and other stuff...

Their self-procalimed influences only include "heavy metal" and Popol Vuh, which doesn't make a damn bit of sense, but after a few listens to Bright Birds Feed Right, it suddenly becomes clear that's there's hardly a better way of describing it. So there.
