Geisterfahrer BPR-039
Telegraph
Geisterfahrer, a New Orleans duo comprised of partners B. Aubrey and Shae Freeman, records introspective, otherworldly music. And they perform it on a bewildering array of unusual instruments.

Telegraph, their latest album, was self-produced on their own Citizen Objects label and it is also their second on Backporch Revolution. Careful listening reveals inspiration from minimalism, ambient/drone, krautrock/kosmiche, classical Indian music, shoegaze and psychedelia.

While eschewing computers or synthesizers, they bring a very high level of studio artistry to layering instrument and field recordings (both natural & mechanical) and unconventional recording techniques.

Instrumentation: autoharp, bass (acoustic & electric), bubul tarang, banjo, BS202 sampler, cello, dilruba, electric tambura, guitars, micro-recorder, melodica, ocean harp, percussion, shehnai, tin whistle, toy piano, viola, voice.
Format: limited edition CD-R  Time: 51:36 Released: 2010-07-21
