“On the evidence of this disc they deserve a much wider audience... in the spirit of Jackie-O Motherfucker, Pelt, and Sunburned Hand of the Man.” –popmatters

“Archipelago avoid all the clichés that come to mind when you hear the “free-folk improv” label... it’s synaesthetic, it’s pop, it’s sorta religious, sorta twisted, and it’s definitely worth a listen.” –tinymixtapes

Archipelago BPR-025
Images of Popular Deities
Images of Popular Deities is elecroacoustic improvisational ensemble Archipelago's first released full-length work. The four tracks straddle many strange instruments and moods, from harmonic to dissonant, quiet to loud, dub to folk. Instrumentation includes digiridoo, hammered dulcimer, xylophone, percussion of all kinds and flavors, as well as live vocals and turntablism and instricate acoustic guitar work.
